Unit Island

This task was so much fun! Making the units was really satisfying since the incisions were all straight lines, and fitting them together was an intricate puzzle. Not that the pieces would not interlock, but rather it was difficult at times to make sure that two pieces could be fixed by gluing an equal area of a third piece to each, equal enough that it would be a stable object once completed. It was important to the purpose of the task that the object would be stable enough in its own right without being fixed to a base, since it would be of interest to observe the ‘inside’ and underside of the finished form.
